Terms and Conditions


  • Totally Fly offers shipping through Courier Post or Castle parcels depending on the size and destination of your package.
  • We will apply an additional shipping charge to oversized or overweight items.
  • If for some reason you are unable to accept the shipment and it is returned to us, Totally Fly will apply a 15% restocking fee and/or reshipping charge.
  • Please inspect your order thoroughly when you receive it for any shipping damage. You must note any visual carton damage on the delivery receipt as “damaged carton” before signing. If there is any damage, you will need to make a claim directly with the shipping company.
  • If the merchandise inside has been damaged, please notify Totally Fly within 24 hours of the receipt for your claim to be valid. If you need to return defective merchandise, this must be approved in advance by Totally Fly and must be accompanied by a returned merchandise authorization RMA number. Totally Fly will promptly replace any defective items if they are returned to us within 10 days of the date reported.

Delivery Rates

  • Small / light parcels – usually used for flies, leaders, tippets, light fly tying etc. approx. 1-3 working days.
  • Medium parcel – usually used for reels, lines, fly boxes, clothing, vices etc approx. 1-3 working days.
  • Large / heavy parcels – usually used for rods, waders, bags, boots, nets etc. approx. 2-3 working days. 

Small/ light parcels-

Small size or weighting 1g to 1 kg

Medium parcels –

Medium size or weighting  1.01 kg to 3 kg

Large / heavy parcels –

Large size or weighting  3 .01 kg +

  • We accept most credit/debit card payment and PayPal. If you are shopping from abroad, please note we will charge you in NZ$ and your card issuer will convert this from their end.
  • We do not charge for any item until it is ready to despatch. 

International orders


  • GST Exemption - When you buy stock online, the prices you see will include GST. We will deduct the GST when we process the order on international purchases. If you are planning to take the items on a passenger plane as baggage, you will be required to pay GST and no GST refunds can be made as per the NZ IRD.


  • International Money Transfers - If you want to deposit your payment into our account from an overseas account, we will charge you a fee of NZD $15. This fee doesn’t apply to credit card payments. Please wait until you have invoice which includes shipping charges so you have the final total to deposit. This amount will include your purchase, shipping and the international money transfer fee. We will send you your order once the payment has arrived in our account, so you may prefer to use a credit card to save time.


  • Overseas Credit Cards - Please make sure you give us your complete billing address as registered with your credit card provider. This is the address to which the credit card statements are sent to. We verify this information with all overseas credit card orders. Totally Fly may also require a faxed/scanned copy of both sides of the credit card and photo ID from the card holder. If your card is declined by security, we will ask for an International Money Transfer instead. We will email you the details if required.


Returns And refunds


  • Refunds - We can only give you a refund or voucher when the item is unused and in its original packaging.
  • Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 - The Consumer Guarantees Act sets out minimum standards for goods sold by Totally Fly. If for any reason any goods we sell are deficient or faulty, we have the right to repair them, replace them or refund you.

Fair Trading Act 1986 - The Fair Trading Act is designed to protect you as a customer from being misled, either intentionally or unintentionally. This applies to all aspects of the promotion and sale of goods and services including: pricing; where the product was made; where the product is from; the meeting of New Zealand safety standards; availability of products in store and the sales techniques used. The Commerce Commission enforces the Fair Trading Act 1986.


Faulty Products


  • If a product is faulty or damaged due to manufacturing faults we will either:

repair the product; or replace the product; or give you a full refund.


Returning Items

  • We do not pay for shipping costs of returning items


How to make a Warranty Claim

If you wish to return your product or require a replacement then the fastest way is to send us an email. Once we’ve received your request we will check our records and contact you as soon as possible.


Product descriptions

  • Totally Fly will do our best to describe and load pictures of our stock as accurately as possible.
  • If you receive an item which you feel doesn’t meet your original order, you can return the product unused and in its original packaging, and we will give you a refund or provide a substitute 
  • We will do our best to ensure stock is available for supply, but sometimes delays may occur. We promise to remedy any problems or offer alternatives quickly. Stock is strictly limited 
  • Product descriptions, prices and images may change at any point.

Errors If there is an error or omission on our site we reserve the right to cancel any orders placed for these items.



What information do we collect?

 When you order, we need to know your name, e-mail address, delivery address, credit or debit card number and expiry date. This allows us to process and fulfill your orders and to notify you of your order status. If you have requested to opt in for our emails, we may also use the contact information we collect to occasionally notify you about changes to our website, new services and special offers we think you'll find valuable. To opt out, simply click the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any emails you receive.


How does Totally Fly protect your information?

 When you place orders, our secure server software (SSL) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you.


Using your information

We will never disclose your information to anyone except where we have your explicit consent, or where we are required or permitted to do so by law, or to any successors in title to our business.


Other websites

 Our website may contain links to other sites which are outside our control and as such, are not covered by this policy. The operators of these websites may collect information from you that will be used by them in accordance to their own policy, which may well differ from ours.
